Brian Jackson

Brian Jackson is an American composer, keyboardist, flutist, and producer whose work helped shape the sound and spirit of socially conscious Black music in the early 1970s. Best known for his creative partnership with poet and musician Gil Scott-Heron, Jackson played a central role in crafting a powerful fusion of soul, jazz, blues, and spoken-word performance that gave musical voice to the social and political realities of the era.

A classically trained pianist and multi-instrumentalist, Jackson’s rich harmonic sensibility and inventive arrangements became a defining element of the duo’s recordings and live performances.
