Bobby Byrd

Bobby Byrd was a legendary musician, songwriter and producer of funk, soul, R&B and gospel whose career, which started in the late 1950s, spanned over three decades. Bobby is most renowned for launching the career of James Brown, whom he recruited to his vocal group The Famous Flames. Their association continued for many years and during the 1960s he recorded his own material under the musical direction of Brown, whose career by this time had reached gigantic proportions.
